The Summer Road Trip
Summertime includes a summer road trip for a lot of families. I know once my little one is older and the weather has cooled a little, we will be hitting the road often for family road trips. My husband is in a band and I traveled as a nanny for so long that time away from the road feels a little strange to us both.
Here are some great sites that will make your travel planning a little easier and help cater to you and your family needs.
My favorite site is On The Way This site will let you know great roadside attractions, parks and restaurants for each leg of your road trip. Just put in the starting point and ending point and each leg is laid out for you.
The next site is AAA. You don’t have to be a member to enjoy great benefits from their site. Let them help you plan every aspect of your trip. Being a member does have its rewards though with discounts on many things like hotels, movies and car rentals.
If you are a little more spontaneous and don’t know where you will be stopping for the night, Hotel Tonight is the site for you. Just put in what city you are in and find discounts on great hotels up to 70% off the regular price.
This next site is one that I love so much! US Parks will help you plan a complete road trip to see all the parks that you want. My husband and I have been wanting to take off and drive for a few months a see all of the National Parks… We haven’t done it yet, but this will be my go to resource when we do. This can help you find campsites, near by hotels and so much more.
The last site I’d like to share is YP. In a new city and want to find everything from parks to kid friendly restaurants, this site is for you. Everything in the area will pop up. Genius.
I hope this helps you. I’d love to hear where you are traveling and how these sites worked for you. My summer will be spent welcoming my little guy into the world in July and then learning about my new life with him. Let me live vicariously through your travels.
